Gaming

A YouTube video

I really love the idea of this new multiplayer game mode for the newest Call of Duty game Black Ops to be released 9th November this year. Its a great addition for those who need more of a challenge than the normal Free For All offers unfortunately I think I may spend most of my time bankrupt playing this unless I can improve my ability at aiming :)

A hobby of yours

Other than reading, cooking and arts & craft I also love playing video and computer  games. I’ve owned a games console since the age of about 7 when I was given a Sega mega drive from my parents.  I still own that mega drive and still use it on occasion but I now also own a PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and DS and also own a PC that is solely used to play games.  I currently own nearly 100 games which probably isn’t that many considering the various consoles I own but I’ve always researched games before buying and if I am left with a game I can’t play I sell it on to fund new purchases. More recently I’ve set myself a rule that I won’t buy a new game until I’ve completed one I already own. Mainly I set this goal so that I actually make time to play on my consoles as gaming is my most expensive hobby but is also the one I spend the least amount of time on. I play about 2 hours a week in a good month and have been known to go 4 months without playing at all. This does have a lot to do with my C.F.S as gaming seems to take the most amount of energy and really does drain me it also requires a lot of concentration so when I’m having a bad time of it I tend not to want or be able to play.

I enjoy and play most gaming genres with the exception of sport and my all time favourite games have to be:

  • Tekken 2- The only tekken game where I have managed to memorise moves rather than just stab random buttons
  • Broken Sword- I love this type of adventure game but I have yet to find another with the same humour other than Discworld which I just haven’t the brain skills to play
  • Prototype – Loved the story it played a little like a film at least so far I have yet to complete it. I also love the amount of varying moves and different mini missions/challenges available. I just wish I had a better memory to keep track of them all.
  • Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – I haven’t the memory to be able to use more than my gun half the time and I haven’t the reactions to react quickly enough or even the ability to aim accurately to be any good at this game but I still have fun trying.
